Role & Functions of the Committee
- Leadership & Compliance – Ensures strict adherence to UGC Regulations, State Government rules, and college anti-ragging policies.
- Policy Implementation – Oversees preventive measures, campus monitoring, and annual anti-ragging declarations.
- Complaint Oversight – Supervises all reported ragging cases, ensures impartial inquiry, and initiates disciplinary actions.
- Coordination with Authorities – Acts as liaison with Police Department, University Anti-Ragging Cell, UGC Helpline, and college administration.
- Monitoring & Surveillance – Ensures periodic checks of campus, hostels, canteen, playground, parking areas, and other vulnerable points.
- Meeting Management – Convenes committee meetings, approves agendas, reviews reports, and ensures follow-up actions.
- Awareness Promotion – Supervises orientation programs, pledge-taking, notice circulation, and anti-ragging campaigns.
- Documentation – Ensures proper maintenance of complaint registers, inquiry reports, affidavits, and compliance records.
- Campus Vigilance – Actively monitor corridors, classrooms, hostels, common areas, and interact with students to prevent ragging.
- Complaint Handling – Receive complaints, collect statements, verify facts, and assist in inquiry processes.
- Awareness Activities – Organize seminars, posters, orientation sessions, and awareness drives regarding anti-ragging laws & penalties.
- Coordination with Departments – Communicate with faculty, hostel wardens, class teachers, and student council for monitoring.
- Online Compliance – Assist students in filling anti-ragging affidavits (UGC portal) and maintain yearly records.
- Promoting Safe Environment – Encourage positive interaction among seniors and freshers; ensure zero-tolerance culture.
- Maintain a ragging-free, safe, and inclusive campus environment.
- Ensure availability of 24×7 complaint mechanisms (offline & online).
- Conduct orientation and sensitization programs at the beginning of each academic year.
- Implement strict preventive measures—surveillance, duty allocation, patrols.
- Conduct time-bound investigation of any ragging incident.
- Maintain compliance with UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, 2009, and Supreme Court guidelines.
- Prepare and submit annual compliance reports to university/IQAC/authorities.
