About Department
The Chemistry Department was started in the year 1985 with undergraduate course B.Sc Chemistry with 30 seats. After that M.Sc. Organic Chemistry(GIA) was started in the year 2005 with the capacity of 20 seats. Till then the department is continuously progressing. Now the chemistry department is having 50 seats in M.Sc. Organic Chemistry(GIA).
Recently the department has also started M.Sc.Organic Chemistry Self-Financing with 60 seats to facilitate the nearby students . The different programmes like industrial visit ,Chem conquest are arranged by the department for students. During this tenure our students were awarded University Gold Medal at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. Some of our students have also qualified SLET in Chemistry.
We have placement cell and our students are placed in various reputed company like Cadilla , Torrent , Galaxy Surfactant , Lupin ,Biral Copper, Firmnich, Asian Paints ,Raks Pharma, Glenmark, UPL, SPC Life Science ,Aarti Industries, Rallies India , P I Industry. Some of our teaching faculties are invited to deliver guest lecture by various colleges and BISAG(KCG) . Our faculty members have also published various research papers and books.
Eligibility For B.SC. Chemistry
- Candidate must have passed standard 12th (HSC) Examination in Science (A,B,AB), through Gujarat Board or any other equivalent board (like CBSE, ICSE) with English subject.
