Role & Functions of the Committee
- Overall Supervision – Heads the Discipline Committee and ensures maintenance of discipline, decorum, and ethical conduct among students.
- Policy & Guidelines – Approves rules, regulations, and procedures for student discipline in accordance with college and university policies.
- Monitoring & Enforcement – Reviews disciplinary incidents, ensures fair inquiry, and monitors compliance with rules.
- Grievance Oversight – Handles escalated cases of misconduct, complaints, and disputes.
- Coordination – Liaises with Principal, faculty, administrative staff, and student representatives for maintaining discipline.
- Decision Authority – Approves disciplinary actions after committee review, including warnings, fines, suspension, or other measures.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintains registers of incidents, inquiry reports, disciplinary actions, and annual reports for IQAC/NAAC.
- Awareness Promotion – Supervises programs on ethical behavior, code of conduct, and student responsibilities.
- Monitoring Student Conduct – Observe classrooms, corridors, campus grounds, and events to ensure discipline.
- Incident Reporting – Identify and report any violation of rules or misconduct to the Chairman.
- Investigation Support – Assist in inquiries, gather statements, and document evidence related to disciplinary cases.
- Counselling & Guidance – Guide students to understand rules, resolve conflicts, and improve behavior.
- Record Maintenance – Maintain detailed logs of incidents, actions taken, and follow-up measures.
- Event Supervision – Ensure discipline during college events, examinations, and public gatherings.
- Student Engagement – Promote awareness of college rules, regulations, and ethical behavior among students.
- Follow-Up Actions – Ensure implementation of committee decisions and preventive measures.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful campus environment.
- Ensure transparent, fair, and timely handling of disciplinary cases.
- Conduct awareness programs on student conduct, ethics, and responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and actions taken.
- Provide guidance and counselling to students for behavioral improvement.
- Liaise with administration, faculty, and external authorities as needed for enforcement.
- Promote a culture of discipline, responsibility, and accountability among students.
