Role & Functions of the Committee

  1. Overall Supervision – Heads the Discipline Committee and ensures maintenance of discipline, decorum, and ethical conduct among students.
  2. Policy & Guidelines – Approves rules, regulations, and procedures for student discipline in accordance with college and university policies.
  3. Monitoring & Enforcement – Reviews disciplinary incidents, ensures fair inquiry, and monitors compliance with rules.
  4. Grievance Oversight – Handles escalated cases of misconduct, complaints, and disputes.
  5. Coordination – Liaises with Principal, faculty, administrative staff, and student representatives for maintaining discipline.
  6. Decision Authority – Approves disciplinary actions after committee review, including warnings, fines, suspension, or other measures.
  7. Documentation & Reporting – Maintains registers of incidents, inquiry reports, disciplinary actions, and annual reports for IQAC/NAAC.
  8. Awareness Promotion – Supervises programs on ethical behavior, code of conduct, and student responsibilities.
  9. Monitoring Student Conduct – Observe classrooms, corridors, campus grounds, and events to ensure discipline.
  10. Incident Reporting – Identify and report any violation of rules or misconduct to the Chairman.
  11. Investigation Support – Assist in inquiries, gather statements, and document evidence related to disciplinary cases.
  12. Counselling & Guidance – Guide students to understand rules, resolve conflicts, and improve behavior.
  13. Record Maintenance – Maintain detailed logs of incidents, actions taken, and follow-up measures.
  14. Event Supervision – Ensure discipline during college events, examinations, and public gatherings.
  15. Student Engagement – Promote awareness of college rules, regulations, and ethical behavior among students.
  16. Follow-Up Actions – Ensure implementation of committee decisions and preventive measures.
  17. Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful campus environment.
  18. Ensure transparent, fair, and timely handling of disciplinary cases.
  19. Conduct awareness programs on student conduct, ethics, and responsibilities.
  20. Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and actions taken.
  21. Provide guidance and counselling to students for behavioral improvement.
  22. Liaise with administration, faculty, and external authorities as needed for enforcement.
  23. Promote a culture of discipline, responsibility, and accountability among students.
