Role & Functions of the Committee
- Overall Leadership â Supervises the functioning of the Student Grievance Redressal Cell ensuring fairness, transparency, and timely redressal.
- Policy & Compliance â Ensures adherence to UGC regulations, institutional policies, and grievance management guidelines.
- Meeting Oversight â Convenes meetings, sets agenda, allocates responsibilities, and ensures timely follow-up actions.
- Review & Monitoring â Periodically reviews registered grievances and monitors the status of pending cases.
- Decision Authority â Approves final decisions and action taken on grievances after committee discussion.
- Communication â Coordinates with Principal, departments, administrative units and stakeholders for grievance resolution.
- Documentation Supervision â Ensures proper maintenance of grievance registers, evidence records, meeting minutes, and action taken reports.
- Student Welfare Support â Ensures a supportive, discrimination-free, and student-friendly grievance environment.
- Case Investigation â Collect statements, verify documents, examine facts, and participate in inquiry processes.
- Confidentiality Assurance â Maintain privacy and protect the identity and dignity of students filing grievances.
- Counselling & Support â Provide basic guidance, counselling, and emotional support to aggrieved students when required.
- Data & Documentation Support â Assist in maintaining complaint records, evidence files, and meeting documentation.
- Follow-up & Monitoring â Ensure timely follow-up on grievances and communicate updates to concerned students.
- Awareness Activities â Conduct orientation programs about grievance mechanisms, anti-ragging policies, and student rights.
- Coordination with Departments â Liaise with faculty, administrative staff, exam cell, hostel-in-charge, and other sections for quick resolution.
- Provide a transparent, accessible, and student-friendly mechanism for grievance submission.
- Address issues related to academics, examinations, fees, facilities, discipline, harassment, or administrative lapses.
- Ensure time-bound investigation and redressal of complaints.
- Ensure the campus environment remains safe, supportive, and conducive to student well-being.
