Role & Functions of the Committee

  1. Overall Leadership – Supervises the functioning of the Student Grievance Redressal Cell ensuring fairness, transparency, and timely redressal.
  2. Policy & Compliance – Ensures adherence to UGC regulations, institutional policies, and grievance management guidelines.
  3. Meeting Oversight – Convenes meetings, sets agenda, allocates responsibilities, and ensures timely follow-up actions.
  4. Review & Monitoring – Periodically reviews registered grievances and monitors the status of pending cases.
  5. Decision Authority – Approves final decisions and action taken on grievances after committee discussion.
  6. Communication – Coordinates with Principal, departments, administrative units and stakeholders for grievance resolution.
  7. Documentation Supervision – Ensures proper maintenance of grievance registers, evidence records, meeting minutes, and action taken reports.
  8. Student Welfare Support – Ensures a supportive, discrimination-free, and student-friendly grievance environment.
  9. Case Investigation – Collect statements, verify documents, examine facts, and participate in inquiry processes.
  10. Confidentiality Assurance – Maintain privacy and protect the identity and dignity of students filing grievances.
  11. Counselling & Support – Provide basic guidance, counselling, and emotional support to aggrieved students when required.
  12. Data & Documentation Support – Assist in maintaining complaint records, evidence files, and meeting documentation.
  13. Follow-up & Monitoring – Ensure timely follow-up on grievances and communicate updates to concerned students.
  14. Awareness Activities – Conduct orientation programs about grievance mechanisms, anti-ragging policies, and student rights.
  15. Coordination with Departments – Liaise with faculty, administrative staff, exam cell, hostel-in-charge, and other sections for quick resolution.
  16. Provide a transparent, accessible, and student-friendly mechanism for grievance submission.
  17. Address issues related to academics, examinations, fees, facilities, discipline, harassment, or administrative lapses.
  18. Ensure time-bound investigation and redressal of complaints.
  19. Ensure the campus environment remains safe, supportive, and conducive to student well-being.
