Role & Functions of the Cell

  1. Overall Leadership – Supervises and directs all activities of the ICC & WDC as per UGC and Government guidelines.
  2. Policy Implementation – Ensures execution of policies related to women’s safety, gender sensitization, and zero tolerance for sexual harassment.
  3. Meeting Oversight – Convenes, chairs, and moderates regular and emergency committee meetings.
  4. Complaint Handling Authority – Receives formal complaints, initiates enquiry procedures, and maintains confidentiality.
  5. Coordination with Authorities – Acts as the primary link with Principal, Management, legal authorities, and external agencies if required.
  6. Monitoring & Documentation – Ensures proper filing, maintenance of enquiry reports, resolutions, and annual reports.
  7. Awareness Initiatives – Approves and supervises programs on women empowerment, safety, legal rights, and gender equality.
  8. Enquiry Participation – Serve on the enquiry panel, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and help prepare reports.
  9. Awareness Support – Assist in planning and conducting workshops, seminars, self-defence training, and sensitization sessions.
  10. Student Interaction – Act as approachable points for girl students to share concerns or seek guidance.
  11. Monitoring Campus Environment – Report unsafe areas, harassment-prone zones, or inappropriate behaviour on campus.
  12. Promotional Activities – Assist in celebrating Women’s Day, gender equity programs, health awareness camps, etc.
  13. Empowerment Programs – Organizes lectures, training, and life-skill programs for the holistic development of girl students.
  14. Legal Literacy – Conducts sessions on women’s rights, cyber safety, and laws on sexual harassment.
  15. Health & Wellness Support – Arranges sessions on mental health, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and counselling.
  16. Campus Safety Initiatives – Encourages installation of safety mechanisms such as CCTV monitoring and help-desks.
  17. Feedback & Improvement – Collects suggestions from students and staff to improve campus safety and inclusivity.
