Role & Functions of the Committee

  1. Overall Supervision – Heads the ICC and ensures compliance with UGC Regulations and institutional policies.
  2. Policy Implementation – Oversees implementation of measures for prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment and misconduct.
  3. Grievance Oversight – Receives formal complaints, initiates inquiry, and ensures confidential and fair investigation.
  4. Coordination – Acts as liaison with Principal, management, legal authorities, and external agencies if required.
  5. Monitoring & Review – Monitors functioning of the ICC, periodic review of complaints, and timely resolution.
  6. Documentation & Reporting – Ensures maintenance of complaint registers, inquiry reports, action taken records, and annual submissions.
  7. Awareness & Prevention – Supervises awareness programs, workshops, and campaigns on gender sensitization and legal rights.
  8. Conflict Resolution – Provides guidance for resolution of complaints and ensures protection of complainants and witnesses.
  9. Complaint Assistance – Help students/staff file complaints and record statements in a supportive manner.
  10. Investigation Support – Participate in inquiry processes, gather evidence, and assist in preparing inquiry reports.
  11. Confidentiality Assurance – Maintain privacy and neutrality during grievance handling.
  12. Awareness Activities – Organize seminars, pledge sessions, and campaigns on sexual harassment prevention and gender equity.
  13. Record Maintenance – Maintain registers, reports, minutes of meetings, and documentation of action taken.
  14. Student Interaction – Act as approachable contacts for students or staff needing guidance or support.
  15. Monitoring Campus Environment – Identify potential risk areas, report unsafe conditions, and promote a safe campus.
  16. Follow-up & Guidance – Ensure compliance with recommendations, protective measures, and preventive actions.
  17. Maintain a safe, harassment-free campus environment.
  18. Ensure confidential, fair, and time-bound resolution of complaints.
  19. Conduct awareness and training programs on legal rights, gender sensitization, and safety measures.
  20. Maintain accurate documentation, registers, and annual reports for submission to authorities.
  21. Act as a support system for victims, ensuring protection and guidance throughout grievance resolution.
