Role & Functions of the Committee

  • Provide overall supervision and approval of academic time tables.
  • Ensure time table complies with University/College academic calendar.
  • Approve allocation of classrooms, laboratories and teaching workload.
  • Resolve conflicts related to faculty workload, class timing or room availability.
  • Review and finalize semester time tables submitted by the committee.
  • Ensure smooth execution of teaching schedule across all departments.
  • Communicate important time table decisions to HODs and faculty.
  • Lead the preparation, planning and coordination of the college time table.
  • Collect subject allotments, workload details and availability from each department.
  • Draft master time table aligning all divisions, courses, and laboratories.
  • Coordinate with HODs to avoid overlaps or schedule clashes.
  • Allocate classrooms and labs based on capacity, priority and requirements.
  • Update time table in case of faculty changes, new batches, or special needs.
  • Publish approved time table on notice boards, website and staff groups.
  • Maintain a record of all versions and changes for academic audit.
  • Provide department-wise subject distribution, faculty workload and batch details.
  • Assist in preparing and checking draft time tables for errors or conflicts.
  • Ensure practical batches, tutorials and special lectures fit within available slots.
  • Verify room/lab availability and suggest alternatives where needed.
  • Communicate final time table to department faculty and students.
  • Monitor implementation during the semester and report issues to Convener.
  • Recommend improvements in scheduling based on feedback and previous experience.
  • Support revisions required due to events, examinations, or faculty leave.
